The Bear Mt Inn

history

In 2003, I bid on some work at the Bear Mountain Inn, a 1915 Great Camp style structure about 40 miles north of New York.

In 2008, we got the go ahead to do work in the Front Lobby

1. We did the 33' long x 3' high Front Desk in Brown-side birch and 1/2 round white cedar.

Bill Olendorf and Will Olendorf were the Project Artisans.

Notice the "Mountainscape" geometric pattern

2. On the 8' tall by 6' wide Screen Wall just behind the Front desk, we worked out a narrative design that

complements the history and the traditional style of the Inn. Judd Weisberg was the Project Artisan.

Judd Weisberg and Daniel Mack on March 8 discussing a design using bark, carved wood and wild veneers. We were also considering pieces of

camp blankets, fungi, rhodedendron, leather, copper, an old saw, driftwood and slate...

In June, 2009, we got the go ahead to do a faux finish on that back wall. Nancy Hansen is the Project Artisan.

We started in mid July and finished in early September

Cost??  To do this again, we'd charge $200-$300 per SF for the bark and veneer work.
