A Rustic Workshop is a good introduction to ways of thinking and working based on responding to the shapes and textures of natural forms and learning to design throughout the building process ... and it is a true pleasure to work with other people. The Rustic Workshop is helpful for full or part-time woodworkers, artists and craftspeople looking to "branch out"... and everyone else who's enchanted or curious about tree-form furniture... No experience necessary.

Daniel Mack brings all the tools, supplies and wood. He brings examples of unusual rustic tools and the common ones available in all hardware stores. In a day, he guides you as you design and construct a 12" high "trophy" chair which has all the joinery and design challenges of full-scale furniture. In longer workshops, we then start on a larger project. All workshops include handouts and a slide lecture on the many forms of Rustic Work and its architectural applications.
